Nous entrons dans un univers enfantin mais très poétique. Une bonne morale pour ce livre plein d'émotions.La fille de Roald Dahl voyait son père dans le personnage du bon gros géant

Bien qu'adulte j'avais acheté ce livre pour enfants pensant qu'il serait écrit en langage simple et me permettrait d'améliorer mon anglais. L'histoire est prenante et la lecture aisée mais ce livre ne répond pas à mon objectif d'apprentissage de l'anglais car l'auteur met volontairement fautes de grammaire sur fautes de vocabulaire dans la bouche du personnage principal.
This is a six-star story by one of the all-time best authors ever. My 6-year old says it is his favorite book in the world so far and has been using words like scrumdiddliumptious for the last week we have been reading it.However, the copy of the book I received new gets one start because it IS MISSING THE MIDDLE 32 pages!!! I just got to page 95 reading out loud to my 6-year old, and the next page in the paper-back is 193! The book proceeds 193 to the end including the ads for other Roald Dahl books, then goes page 129 through to the end again, including a repeat of the 193 onward section. Pages 96 through 128 are missing entirely. This kind of misprint happens sometimes, but it is such a bummer in the middle of the story! I wish Amazon could send me the kindle version so I can get back to our favorite bed-time story tonight, and eventually a replacement paperback so we can have a complete copy for our younger child when he is old enough for it!
I am a ten-year old girl and I thought The BFG was a great book. I loved how some of the chapters made me laugh out loud. It was a very creative book and I always looked forward to reading it. I've read many books and The BFG was definitely one of my favorites. I decided to read The BFG because I saw an advertisement on TV for the movie. I'm glad I did! I would definitely -and no question about it- recommend it to a friend!
One of the best kids' books ever written. The BFG is a lovely creature whose demeanor and presence validates young readers' fears without pandering or being overly scary. Dahl had a great eye for the ludicrous in the world and invites kids in on the ridiculousness. A joy to read aloud, for as long as the young reader will let you! They almost always want to take it on for themselves before you want to let it go. Get your own copy, mom, dad...
Truly enjoyed the book although it took a little getting used to the giant's language. Once I got the hang of it, it was quite entertaining. My granddaughter, who is an avid reader in 2nd grade, was thrilled to get the book. She loves the giant's language and now makes up her works while playing. To funny trying to guess what the words are.
I just saw the musical production, Matilsa, and thought it so clever I wanted to find its source. The book is a bit different from the play but what a great and fun author is Roald Dahl. I had no idea he also wrote James and the Giant Peach so I was thrilled to find several of his books which all shipped together and arrived within a week of my order. I look forward to reading this volume of which I had no prior knowledge. I am happy and delighted with the product and the seller.
